The wonderful text from which this piece was born is among the most standard texts there is to be found across the Unitarian Universalist faith and is a staple of many UU Christmas season services. It makes a simple but powerful profession that the Holy Night that is Christmas Eve is a reflection of the holiness of all birth and the beauty and wonder of new life; a sacredness we continue to witness in the birth of each child.

This piece was a winner of the 2022 Edwin Fissinger Prize in Choral Composition from North Dakota State University and was premiered in March of 2023 by the NDSU Concert Choir.
